I've installed dspace-4.2-src-release on my debian wheeze machine using
xmlui on tomcat7 and postgresql9. Everything happened fine. But when I have
tried to run the webapps through my browser it doesn't show anything. I
have configured the webapps by using this guide-

The configuration of host and url is as follows--
# DSpace installation directory
#dspace.dir = /dspace
dspace.dir = /usr/local/dspace
# DSpace host name - should match base URL. Do not include port number.
#dspace.hostname = localhost
dspace.hostname = localhost
# DSpace base host URL. Include port number etc.
#dspace.baseUrl = http://localhost:8080
dspace.baseUrl = http://localhost:8080
# DSpace base URL. Include port number etc., but NOT trailing slash
# Change to xmlui if you wish to use the xmlui as the default, or remove
# "/jspui" and set webapp of your choice as the "ROOT" webapp in
# the servlet engine.
#dspace.url = http://localhost:8080/xmlui
dspace.baseUrl = http://localhost:8080
