Hi Rumbi,

there is a specific script that can help you to find out the cause of email
related issues:
*[dspace]/bin/dspace test-email*

This will attempt to send a test email to the address set in dspace.cfg
(mail.admin). If it fails, it should give you more information as to why
the email wasn't sent.

Somewhat related (or ... shameless plug, whatever you want):
I hope that we can make the default DSpace email functionality less of a
configuration hurdle: https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS-2674
Comment or vote on this proposal, if you think it has merit.
