That file *should not* be present. servlet-api is provided by Tomcat. But this is not your problem; every DSpace site has those messages. The actual problem is probably logged in another file. Check all the log files that Tomcat writes, and also the DSpace log files, to see if there are clues there. The problem happens very early in the startup of the webapp.s and the logging is probably not completely set up yet. -- Mark H.
