In one case an Item is created out of several files and one METS file with MARC21 metadata in it. There is a custom crosswalk MARCIngestionCrosswalk. The metadata is created. The METS file is stored in the METADATA bundle of the item.
This works. Later a librarian updates the MARC21 metadata in the METS file - using the REST API. Now I am wondering what is a good way to update the item's metadata using the updated MARC21 metadata in the METS file? Ideally it would be a curation task, which could be started through the REST API... In reality - is there anything in DSpace, that could be used (as a part) in the implementation of the update of the item's metadata? Or should everything be coded from scratch? What is the metadata created by DSpace during the ingest which should be preserved (not changed) during the update: dc.date.accessioned dc.date.available dc.identifier.uri dc.description.provenance Is there more than this? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "DSpace Technical Support" group.
