Hi, [Context: Dspace XMLUI 5.4 (Mirage2)]
Admin can not delete submissions in workflow. This problem has been there since ages (we had the same limitation with version 1.8.2). I just made sure I got the same behavior in the demo site (http://demo.dspace.org/xmlui) before posting here. It's exactly what is described here: https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSPACE/Admin+UI+-+Reviewers+can+delete+submissions+in+workflow but with the Admin role. I agree this would be nice for reviewers to be able to delete duplicate items, but I would have at least expected an admin to be able to delete an item at this stage. I do (as Admin) click the "Completely expunge item / Permanently delete" button in the "Edit item > Item status" page of the item and I do confirm that I want to delete the item..... but the task (and item) stays in the pool. Is the only option I have is to reject the item (often a duplicate), then log in as the user and then delete it from his workspace (but meanwhile the system will have sent an email to the submitter.... not good)? Moreover, still as admin, I cannot delete an item within a user's workspace... not practical... Has anyone found a better workaround/solution?
