We did a run with our real data and had to split the import to make it work. First importing the groups and then each Top Level Community with -o skipIfParentMissing=true option and it worked. That was on ~ 16.000 Items with 69 GB Assetstore size and 12 GB max mem. The biggest Top Level Community was ~ 7000 items.
