I am using DSpace version 1.7. This was setup for me by a professor so I only have so much control over it. And for over a month, I have been forced to reset my password a dozen or more times. I use the simplest passwords - think password1, password 2, etc. sort of passwords. I know I am not forgetting them. This wouldn't be so bad if I could just click "Forgot Password" and send an email to myself to reset it. But I can't. My email is strangely missing on my end, like I never registered even though my professor was the one who registered me. My professor, however, can not only login with my info but she can also send a reset email to me. We are now up to using two separate emails for logging in and they both go down at about the same time.
I have tried using Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer, and Edge, the latter 2 browsers I have no settings in, no cache to clear, because I never use them. I've tried my husband's desktop, my laptop, and our Macbook which I don't use either. So I can't see how anything is getting mucked up in the settings. I'm in a different state from her, off campus, but this shouldn't be an issue. A friend of mine in Australia also tried logging in and couldn't get in either. So I've not only tried different browsers and computers, I've tried different login locations. No dice. I have lost so many hours to this, I can't even give you a guesstimate. It's been going on, and documented as an ongoing problem, since 3/29. My password has broken twice today alone. I don't know what to do besides curl up in a ball and cry in the corner.
