Peter, There are several institutions harvesting our DSpace 5 repository using the REST API. Here's an example of a publications portal that gets all its data from our DSpace:
https://ccafs.cgiar.org/publications Seems to be Drupal underneath. Another thing is a "mass tweeter" app that tweets all new items (fetched via DSpace REST). This second one was initially built as a kind of hack so that Altmetric could make the right association between our Handles and DOIs, but now is just a Twitter account with community-specific hashtags and stuff in its own right.
