Hi Ade,
If it's a semi-modern version of DSpace (IIRC, 1.6 or later), you should
be able to tell the version by visiting the homepage in your web
browser, right clicking and selection "View Source". This will show you
the HTML code behind the page. Then search for this tag:
<meta name="Generator" content="DSpace 5.5" />
The "Generator" tag should tell you exactly which version of DSpace you
are running. In the above example it shows the version is DSpace version
5.5.
If it's a recent version (4.x or later), the version information is also
available from the commandline by running "[dspace]/bin/dspace version"
(where [dspace] is the full path of your DSpace installation).
No matter which prior version of DSpace you are running, you can upgrade
to 5.x (5.5 is the latest) using this same set of upgrade instructions:

Good luck,
Tim

Hello,
I am having issues with a DSpace Server with repeated tomcat crashes
that was inherited. The Server was configured sometime in 2012 which
needs to be updated.
The following are the versions of applications running on the server:
PostgreSQL 8.4.20
Httpd-2.2.15-54
Tomcat6-6.0.23-95
CentOS release 6.8 64bit
I will need assistance with
a. Finding the version of dspace running on the server
b. Upgrading the Server.
I will appreciate your response on this.
Thanks and Regards,
Ade
