Unfortunately yes. But you can fix it by applying Emilio Lorenzo's patch that he posted to: https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS-3281 I am yet unfamiliar with the procedures necessary for a fix to get included in DSpace. DSpace 7 will get an all new REST API, where this will be changed anyway, I suppose.
