The GitHub ssh issue can be fixed by adding/creating a github_rsa ssh 
keypair in ~/.ssh and adding the public key to your GitHub account. IIRC 
Vagrant will copy the github_rsa key into the new VM and use it from there.

...worked for me YMMV yadda yadda.
