Dear Dspace Tech

I intend to migrate old Dspace database (1.8 schema) to Dspace 6.0. I do have
parallel instances of Dspace at present (1.8.2 and a new instance of Dspace
6.0).

1. What is the best approach for me to migrate the database to the new
instance of Dspace 6.0? I have come up with the following list of commands.

2. I did install pgcrypto in a separate schema (during setup of Dspace 6).
When I drop Dspace database, do I need to redo the installation of pgcrypto
extension?

#on the old instance of Dspace
pg_dump -U dspace dspace > dspace1.8.sql

#in between
move the "dspace1.8.sql" to new instance of Dspace (via sftp)

#on new instance of Dpspace
dropdb dspace
createdb -O dspace --encoding=UNICODE dspace
pg_restore -U dspace -d dspace -O < dspace1.8.sql

#migrate database schema
<dspace.dir>/bin/dspace database info
<dspace.dir>/bin/dspace database migrate
<dspace.dir>/bin/dspace database info

Thanking you in anticipation

Regards
/Bravismore
