Francisco, The editor doesn't matter. Literally any text editor will work. The important part is to find the location where DSpace is installed, an there will be a webapps/xmlui/themes/ folder there where you can see your theme (Mirage2?). That's where you need to run compass. Make some changes to some SCSS there, run compass, and then refresh the page in your browser and you will see the changes.
