Hello Johannes, as you are using the jspui you need to customize the Messages.properties file, the messages.xml is for the xmlui see https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC6x/Localization+L10n#LocalizationL10n-Messagecatalog.1 for details on where to find and where to customize the message catalogue.
