Hello Anju,
in the jspui there are two ways to set the DEFAULT_ITEM_READ and
DEFAULT_BITSTREAM_READ for a collection.
While creating a collection in the first step there is a checkbox:
New items should be publicly readable
which is already checked. Uncheck this and in a later step you can
define the DEFAULT_ITEM_READ.
If a collection is already created, log in as admin
Edit -> Collection's Authorizations
there you find the authorizations and you can change them.
Note that from DEFAULT_ITEM_READ and DEFAULT_BISTREAM_READ policies are
derived during ingest.
Changing the settings will have no effect on already existing items.
For this as admin you can use
Access Control -> Authorization -> Advanced/Item Wildcard Policy Admin Tool
