I want to give this post a bump. I'm getting no results for a DOI submission lookup. Current specs for my development environment are Dspace v6.2, running on Linux (Ubuntu 14.04).
Not sure if this helps, But I can submit DOIs to CrossRef, and it returns results. The current CrossRef endpoint is (for example) http://search.crossref.org/dois?q=10.1186/s12889-017-4533-z The old Crossref endpoints found in the CrossrefService.java file are "http://search.labs.crossref.org/dois" and "http://www.crossref.org/openurl/". The search() method with the last API call asks for a key, which seems not to be necessary anymore?
