Hi Manuela, This behavior doesn't sound correct to me. I'm not entirely sure why the post-migration reindex would take longer than `index-discovery -b`, as the same code is triggered through either reindex.
However, if you wanted to *avoid* the automated post-migration reindex, it is possible to do so. I've just enhanced our Upgrade Documentation to include steps on how to avoid the automatic reindex, and instead run a manual reindex (via index-discovery -b). See the new (yellow) Note at the end of the "10.
