Dear All,

How can I reset the SOLR statistics of our repository? While compiling the
statistics like top downloads in every year since we started in 2011, I
discovered that the whole year of 2014 and some months in 2015 have zero
values which is very unlikely. So I tried to reindex the SOLR as stated
here: https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC5x/SOLR+Statistics+Maintenance
using
the command [dspace]/bin/dspace solr-reindex-statistics. The command
executed without problems but now when I run the SOLR queries to get the
statistics, I have now different (lower) values in the years that I have
previously recorded. In line with this, can I reset the SOLR statistics?
All my dspace logs are still intact and I would like to convert, export and
then re-import them in SOLR statistics. Is it SAFE to delete the
[dspace]/solr/statistics directory before running the reimport again to
avoid duplication of statistics since I've read that this should only be
run once? Also, although it is stated in the wiki page that I mentioned
above that solr-reindex-statistics is safe to run on a live site, I am
encountering the "process cannot access the file because it is being used
by another process" thus interrupting the reindexing process.

Please advise if my steps on resetting my SOLR statistics and if there are
other ways that I could do to fix this.

DSpace version: 5.5
            OS: Windows 2003(x86) version 5.2
     Discovery: enabled.
           JRE: Oracle Corporation version 1.7.0_21
Ant version: Apache Ant(TM) version 1.8.2 compiled on December 20 2010
 Maven version: 3.3.1

Thanks in advance and best regards,
euler
