Hello Gonzalo, DSpace-CRIS has a default configuration for thesis type, https://github.com/4Science/DSpace/blob/dspace-5_x_x-cris/dspace/config/modules/cris.cfg#L66
so you should edit the property "navbar.cris-entities" in cris.cfg ( https://github.com/4Science/DSpace/blob/dspace-5_x_x-cris/dspace/config/modules/cris.cfg#L5 ) and add "theses" at the end of the list. After a restart of tomcat you should see the new item in the Navigation bar list.
