Hi Hayden, If you are using the traditional, 3-step workflow system (described here: https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC6x/Functional+Overview#FunctionalOverview-WorkflowSteps), then yes this is hardcoded. In this scenario, you'd have to modify the Java code.
However, you may want to consider migrating to the Configurable/XML Workflow system (which is becoming the only Workflow system in DSpace 7.0 and above). The Configurable Workflow allows you to more easily create a custom workflow without requiring new Java code. See the documentation at https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC6x/Configurable+Workflow Configurable Workflow is available in 3.0 or above, but is disabled by default. As noted, in 7.0, the traditional, 3-step workflow is being dropped entirely, and all users will be automatically migrated to Configurable Workflow. - Tim On Wed, Mar 20, 2019 at 12:15 PM Hayden Young <hay...@knowledgearc.com> wrote: > We currently have XMLUI's workflow configured to use the 3 step workflow > with the final step being Commit to Archive. > > We have the requirement that even at step 3, that the item be rejected.
