Hi everybody A client has two instances of a DSpace repository.: Pre-production and production.
Production is updated frequently by request by IT staff. Production instance is read-only, that means that nobody insert items in this instance. Pre-production is intranet only. Currently they've contracted handle server. My first impression was to deploy the handle server in production locally and connect the pre-production instance via a remote handle sever for the process of creation of items, as it's explained in https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSDOC6x/Installing+DSpace#InstallingDSpace-ToinstallaHandleresolveronaseparatemachine: When the synchronization occurs, the databases of pre-production and indexes (except for stats) are copied from pre-production to production. As I cannot see a clear way to test if it could work. Could you share your oppinions/recommendations? Is there something to be added in the synchronization process after adding handle server?
