I work with Chin. Wanted to pile on with the start of the error message, in case that tells anyone anything:
Java stacktrace: java.lang.NullPointerException at org.dspace.submit.step.DescribeStep.readSeriesNumbers(DescribeStep.java:885) at org.dspace.submit.step.DescribeStep.doProcessing(DescribeStep.java:255) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:62) etc. This is what we get through the submission form, when clicking from the first describe page to the second, or when clicking any of the 'add' buttons on the first page.
