OK, I solved problem no 1 by simply importing my backup version. The second problem also seems easy to solve by using AIPs to export my DSpace site. One last question in that context (I don't want anything to go wrong!): using the AIP function creates a backup of my site? I still have to work on my repository and would need the AIP zip as an (additional) backup for an upload to Dropbox.
