1) We were able to solve the issue of duplicates in the sidebar facets
after we found a discrepancy between code & documentation in
discovery.cfg version 5.8:
The file in GitHub has the configuration
index.ignore-authority = ... [1]
However, the documentation of 5.x says
index.authority.ignore = ... [2]
After we failed with the first configuration, we tried
"index.authority.ignore = true" and this removed the duplicates. Thank
you Paul for the pointer to the file.
2) To remove the duplicates in the browse index we had to change
discovery.cfg as well. We found an older thread [3] where adding another
configuration to discovery.cfg (browse.authority.ignore...) and changing
another file [4] helped. These changes didn't make it into version 5.x,
though.
I think it makes sense to address these two things together. Could
someone with insight into the code check this? That would be great. I
could then file a bug report.
