Sarah: I'm not certain, but I believe the error you are seeing may indicate that the ImageMagick package may need to be installed on your server, or the path to ImageMagick adjusted in yoru configuration. "convert" is an ImageMagick command. Typically ImageMagick thumbnails are enabled on the media filter in dspace.cfg, and I believe you can set the path to ImageMagick commands there as well.
