Volunteers or community developers can develop any feature they wish to contribute, and the core team will review it for possible inclusion in the next release) If you, or anyone else, are interested in helping develop such a plugin, we take contributions from anyone in the community. This is exactly what happened with the integrated Video/Image viewer in 7.0...it was contributed/donated by developers in the community when they found an Angular-based plugin which was relatively easy to integrate in the new UI. It's always possible there's an Angular-based plugin that could be relatively easy to integrate for these new features as well.
