In DSpace 6 we decided to delete theses and dissertation as types from the 
submission form. It prevented students from submitting items to the IR and 
encouraged them to use vireo. DSpace 7 deleted most of the metadata because 
it wasn't part of the submission form. Configuring the new types fixed the 
issue.
