God morning,we are currently using DSpace 7.6.1 and 8 for multiple Research Data repositories and it works quite fine. You might want to redesign the file-download sections on the item-pages, because they're not yet optimized for research data but beside this, it was quite strait forward.

One of the areas we need to work on first was handling and displaying lots of files.
