Hi,

A 500 error is usually a sign of a misconfiguration. We have a guide for
how to solve this issue in our "Common Installation Issues" at the bottom
of the Install Guide:

https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC8x/Installing+DSpace#InstallingDSpace-%22500ServiceUnavailable%22fromtheUserInterface

In your case, the issue is probably because you are attempting to use an IP
address and HTTP. To run from a different server, you should use HTTPS,
and ideally you should use a domain as described in the installation
guide. https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC8x/Installing+DSpace
