We are on DSpace 7.6.1 and tried to make updates to use the new Datacite 4
schema. We updated the DIM2Datacite.xsl file and changed the Datacite
schema location/namespace in config like so:
crosswalk.dissemination.DataCite.schemaLocation = \
http://datacite.org/schema/kernel-4 \
http://schema.datacite.org/meta/kernel-4/metadata.xsd
crosswalk.dissemination.DataCite.namespace =
http://datacite.org/schema/kernel-4
*Our DOIs are now live on Datacite with the Datacite 4 schema. However,
within DSpace, the DOIs are only visible within the status tab of items as
"queued for registration." *They have not been written to the
identifier.uri field in the metadata.
*Any ideas on how to fix this?*
The other odd thing is that DOIs are being assigned retrospectively to old
content (pre-dating our DSpace 7x upgrade which is when our integration
with Datacite started). When we upgraded to 7, DOIs were only registered
for new content. Now DSpace is minting (and registering) DOIs for old
content. I'm confused about why this is happening now? Is it the expected
behavior for DOIs to be minted retrospectively? Maybe DSpace tried to mint
DOIs for these records when we first upgraded to 7x but they got stuck and
are now unstuck?
