Hi, It sounds like there may be a bug there. I think that's also what Andrew is referencing -- there's some difference in behavior based on which display is being used for the author names.
If someone can figure out a way to *reliably reproduce this* (both a scenario where the author name *is linked* and one where it's *not linked*), then I'd recommend creating a bug ticket in https://github.com/DSpace/dspace-angular/issues (However, keep in mind that linking to the Items on the demo site is *not stable* because the demo site resets all content after one week. So, some of the prior links shared are already broken.) Generally, anytime you can reproduce an issue on demo.dspace.org, that's a sign that it's *likely a bug*.
