Dear Namrata, This is likely because you'll need to specifically add read permissions (item and bitstream level) to every item in that collection. The new group will be able to access any items submitted after the group was added but this won't apply items added to the collection before the group was given read permissions.
The easiest way to do this is with the Access Control feature on the collection. If this is a custom group you may also need to edit the access-conditions.xml config file and add the group so that it appears as an option in Access Control.
