It's possible that's the cause of the issues you are seeing. You also should check that the directory specified in "assetstore.dir" exists and that you have plenty of storage space still available on your system. The later error "Caused by: java.io.IOException: java.io.IOException: No such file or directory at org.dspace.storage.bitstore.DSBitStoreService.put(DSBitStoreService.java:123)" seems like it might be saying that your "assetstore.dir" setting may be invalid (or perhaps the storage it's using is out of space).
