Thanks Lia! I completely missed that bug report. The logic is sound and I can
replicate the problem this bug fix corrected in our current DSpace instance.
As such, I suspect we’ll accept the behavior in 9.2 as is… or at the very
least, that’s what I’ll push for.

Hi Michael!

It looks like this bug fix ticket
<https://github.com/DSpace/dspace-angular/issues/4166> (part of DSpace 9.2
release<https://wiki.lyrasis.org/spaces/DSDOC9x/pages/379125829/Release+Notes#ReleaseNotes-9.2MajorBugFixesandImprovements>)
was likely what caused this change in the Browse by Title behavior. As
context, there's a lot of commentary in the ticket about the reasoning for the
change.

There's not currently a way to configure that behavior that I know of (besides
rolling back that code manually) - but if you would like to request more
configurability for this feature or restart a discussion around it, you are
welcome to submit an issue<https://github.com/DSpace/DSpace/issues>.

Best,
Lia

Salutations!

I'm in the process of updating our DSpace 7.6 repository to DSpace 9.2. We've
noticed that in the new version, the Browse Title page is no longer ignoring
leading articles like "A" or "The" when sorting titles. I seem to recall that
all we needed to do in 7.6 was mark the title as having a language of "en" and
Solr knew what to do, but in the new version that's not happening any more.

Is there a way to restore that behavior in DSpace 9.2?
