I'm preparing to move from 1.3.2 to 1.4.1. Every time I pull together
an upgrade, I have to deal with a particular problem: the word
"DSpace" is overloaded.

Sometimes "DSpace" refers to the software product. I want to give
credit where credit is due, so many references to "DSpace" within the
user interface should be exactly that.

But sometimes "DSpace" refers to a service provided by using a
particular instance of DSpace. I always spend a lot of time rummaging
through the email templates, Messages.properties, and sundry other
files fixing new references to the service to reflect the name of
*our* service.

Is someone addressing this in a future release? References to the
service really ought to be substituted out of dspace.cfg. This
probably calls for the creation of a new "short name" parameter, as
seeing e.g. "IDeA: IUPUI Digital Archive" (our ${dspace.name}) in many
of the places one sees "DSpace" now would be rather fatiguing.

Design particulars probably belong over on dspace-devel, but I thought
that initial discussion deserved a broader audience.

Typically when a software vendor says that a product is "intuitive" he
means the exact opposite.
