Hi Pablo,

you may just validate your repository via the OAI registration page:
http://www.openarchives.org/data/registerasprovider.html
by entering your base URL e.g.
http://hipatia.uc3m.es:8080/dspace-oai/request
in the form at the end of the page.
You may choose whether to register or just validate (prechecked) your 
base URL.

Furthermore there is the Repository Explorer
http://re.cs.uct.ac.za/

maybe one of these saves you the trouble of creating your own validation 
tool.
