You need to set your search.analyzer = org.apache.lucene.analysis.cn.ChineseAnalyzer in the dspace.cfg file and run index-all.
Note that we use org.apache.lucene.analysis.standard.StandardAnalyzer which seems to handle a mix of Chinese and English quite well. Scott.
