In Dspace\config file there is a section called Email Settings.
Configure that section as per your email server settings.

# mail.server.password = mypassword
# From address for mail
#mail.from.address = [EMAIL PROTECTED]

#mail.admin = [EMAIL PROTECTED]
# Recipient for server errors and alerts
