I checked the tech archive to find out if there have been any discussions about using MySQL in Dspace and found none, so I will pose my question.
I know Dspace is setup to be able to connect and work with either Postgres or Oracle, but has any one tried using DSpace with MySQL? Or are there any plans to make it work with MySQL? We have been using Postgres exclusively for our Dspace instance just fine, but most of our expertise is in MySQL and all our other applications use MySQL. It would be nice not have to maintain two DB engines and develop expertise in both. So I know that if we could transition to MySQL, we would. Are there any thoughts on this? Thank you!
