The advice you gave me worked great. Now the D-Space works OK.
I downloaded the last Oracle driver from:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/htdocs/jdbc_10201.html
Then I proceeded to recompile the aplication and voila!!

What version of the Oracle JDBC drivers are you running?
The 1.4.2 code is only tested/supported with the 10.2.x series of JDBC drivers
(it doesn't matter if the database software is older, the new drivers will
still work).
Also, are you using a 'thin' connection string (jdbc:oracle:thin), or 'oci'?
