Hello Andrew, the patch
1557948 Link subjects and authors on item pages http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1557948&group_id=19984&atid=319984 has been committed to dspace but it is not part of 1.4.2 it is part of the current trunk. The config line seems to be a "leftover" of reversing some patches which have been committed to 1.4.2 but were not suitable for a minor release.
