It's not really different then run from the same machine you need only to keep a copy of part of dspace-installation (lib, bin, handle-server and config dir). Modify the dspace.cfg copy on Handle machine to access at the DSpace DB (normally on the same server that DSpace webapp but don't required) Finally you can start and stop the handle server normally.
