Dear DSpace Community,

For the past three years I've been involved in work relating to the
rights of India's Denotified and Nomadic communities (DNTs). Now
numbering over 60 million, these communities were declared "criminals
by birth" under British rule and continue to bear that stigma. The
Indian NGO I've been working with has an archive of thousands of
documents relating to DNT rights. These include legal petitions,
correspondences, research reports, etc. They would like to create a
digital archive of these documents available for all to research over
the internet. I've agreed to help them in this endeavor.

Because I don't live in India, and also because I lack any experience
creating digital archives, it is essential that I find a partner in
India who would be willing to help us out. The NGO, the Bhasha
Research and Publication Foundation, is based in Vadodara, Gujarat:

http://www.bhasharesearch.org.in/

We are looking for individuals or an organization who can help with
technical support and training. Together with that organization or
individuals we would apply for grants to pay for the implementation of
this archive.

Even if you are not able to provide such support yourself, but are
interested in helping out in some other way, please let me know.

Since I don't use Dspace myself I am not set up to receive e-mail from
this list. If you are interested in helping out, please contact me
directly at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Thank you,

Kerim
