Hi We are trying to integrate a research documentation system (ForskDok) with DSpace. The idea is that the researcher should use the GUI in ForskDok and that the metadata and bitstream will be stored both places.
We would like to create an interface in to DSpace but we are having some difficulties with understanding how we should use the data model. The idea is to create an item object and put data from ForskDok in that object. Is it possible for us to use an item with an empty context? How do we assure that the item goes through the workflow of a collection (in ForskDok the user will choose a collection)?
