Oh. I thing You got me wrong! The trouble was made by the postgresql-8.2-506.jdbc4.jar in combination with my Java 1.5 installation. After replacing this by postgresql-8.2-506.jdbc3.jar, I could do the 'fresh_install'. So everything is fine with the PostgreSQL, Java and DSpace documentation in this point.
