Hi Terry, I've found the Item Mapper author browse to be extremely unforgiving in its application. I took a look at the way that it works, and it performs an author browse on precisely the free text string that you enter into the box, and if it does not find exact matches it gives you nothing. So if you are looking for papers by me, and I am in the author list as "Jones, R", then "Jones", "Jones R", "Jones, Richard" will all return no results. Are you definitely searching for the precise author name as it appears in metadata?
Alternatives are that the browse indices have not yet been created. If you select Browse By Author, and you get no results you will need to build those indices first. Hope that helps, Cheers, Richard > I'm just fishing for ideas here. I've setup an instance of 1.4.2 and > both search and browsing the author index work dandy.
