I got it figured out. I accidently replaced a $in_directory =
/dspace/log in stat-report-initial with /dspace/reports

Subject: Re: [Dspace-tech] Stats Question

Hi Mark,

As you can see, stat-initial runs fine. All the files are owned by the
user dspace and I'm running the stat jobs as dspace as well.

My log files are located in /data/dspace/log and I've set that up as the
directory in dstat.cfg to pull the information from.

[xxx bin]$ ./stat-initial
[xxx bin]$ ./stat-report-initial

Permission problem? What account owns the logs? What account runs
the stat. job? What permissions are on the logs?

Does it say anything in addition to "failed to read log?" Perhaps you
could post the entire attempt verbatim.
