I created a copy of our DSpace instance and upgraded it from 1.4.2 to 1.5. Initially all went well. After a short test I found the following:
1) Scandinavian characters did not work in search. I had to change the container encoding to ISO-8859-1 in web.xml to enable them. (Tomcat is set to UTF-8). 2) I ran index-init, index-update & filter-media. When using the quick search (search field on the left bar) the system returns different set of results than our live DSpace 1.4.2. It seems that the quick search only searches from item fulltext on 1.5, on 1.4.2 it seems to search the metadatafields as well. Has this changed on 1.5 or what might be wrong here?
