Hello,

I have created admin groups for particular collections in DSpace 1.5 and
would like the epersons in these admin groups to be able to allow other
epersons to submit items to the respective collections, without letting
them delete, etc. I would also like to be able to do that for
communities (and recursively all of their subcommunities and
collections). What is the best way to do that?

I created an admin group, e.g. COLLECTION_1_ADMIN from the "Assign
roles" menu under "Edit collection," and the default description of this
group says "Collection administrators decide who can submit items to
the collection, withdraw items, edit item metadata (after submission),
and add (map) existing items from other collections to this collection
(subject to authorization for that collection)." However, I also made a
COLLECTION_1_SUBMIT group, then logged in with one of the accounts
associated with the COLLECTION_1_ADMIN group (not a system admin
account) and could *not* edit the COLLECTION_1_SUBMIT group -- got the
message this account had insufficient permissions. I can't find an
explicit option to give such permissions to the COLLECTION_1_ADMIN group.

Also, I am confused regarding the Administrative - Access Control -
Authorizations menu and the relationship of these authorizations to the
groups above. If I already have a COLLECTION_1_ADMIN group (supposed to
be able to administer this collection by virtue of its existence), do I
need to specifically give ADD, DELETE, etc. authorizations to this group
from the Authorizations menu, or is this already taken care of elsewhere?

Thank you in advance,
