Hi!
I was just wondering whether running the simplesetup one more time would
have any adverse effect. I hope the second time passphrase can be left
blank. http://sunsite.utk.edu/diglib/dspace/#handle
Just a thought
Cheers! Jayan

Subject: [Dspace-tech] Handle server startup fails - looking for
InnaKlimbovskaia, Rafa Carreres or Mathias Hjelt
Hi all
I've just migrated our production dspace instance to a new server and
had to reissue CNRI with a sitebndl.zip. In the SimpleSetup it prompts
you to enter a passphrase. Ignorantly thinking this sounded like a good
thing to do, I did that. Now my handle server won't start up - I found
this thread from last year (see below) but the actual solution was not
posted. I was wondering if Inna (or anyone else out there) can tell me
how to remove the passphrase so I can use my handle server. Or
alternatively, is anyone using a passphrase with a working handle
server??
Also, according to the openssl FAQs, "Leaving a private key unencrypted
is a major security risk" so do I really want to remove the passphrase?
Furthermore, these openssl commands seem to issue/remove .pem files and
I can't see none o' those in my [dspace]/handle-server directory. I
would echo Inna and Mathias Hjelt's comments that this should be clearly
stated in the bundled/online documentation in large letters eg: If using
the SimpleSetup, DO NOT ISSUE A PASSPHRASE! I'm happy to update the
handle documentation once I've sorted some of these issues out.
I currently have no persistent identifier functionality on my production
dspace, so sorting this out is quite important.
According to Dan Scott (are you out there?) the solution "was described
in a July 30, 2007 post to the list by Rafa Carreres." but I'm stuffed
if I can find the post (Rafa Carreres are you out there?).
Any help is much appreciated. Thank you very much.
Kind regards
Gary

Thank you Christian!
That explains the problem. It would be nice if someone updates
documentation, so it actually say not to use passphrase...
Thank you again,
Inna
